Ray Auvray selected as Libdem candidate for Torrington Rural

We are proud to announce that Ray Auvray, the chairman of Torridge and West Devon Liberal Democrats has been selected to fight the Devon County Council seat of Torrington Rural.

Ray is an experienced campaigner and has been a district councillor before. Ray is campaiging to:

• Restore the £2.2 million the Tories at County Hall are cutting from Devon's schools and lobby government for fairer funding per student.

• Deliver value for money. Stop the County Council wastage and excessive bureaucracy Persuade the Council to put an extra investment of £1 million into fixing potholes, tackling highway drainage problems and promoting schemes to prevent flooding.

• Keep acute services at North Devon Hospital, stop further closures and promote joint working between the County Council and the NHS.
