New research commissioned by the Liberal Democrats shows GP waits will hit a record high in 2025.

So far this year, almost one in five people waited over two weeks for a GP appointment, and one in 20 over four weeks.

Since 2020, there has been a 50% rise in patients waiting over 14 days and a 67% increase in those waiting over 28 days – that’s 12.9 million people.

Years of Conservative neglect broke our NHS and now Labour are failing to grasp this national crisis spiralling out of control.

Not only do patients suffer for longer as they wait, their conditions are at risk of getting severely worse - even life threatening.

The Lib Dems are calling for an emergency package to save the family doctor so every patient can be seen within 7 days or 24 hours if urgent.
